The Big Squeeze

This is something I have been doing for ages, and can’t recommend enough.

As soon as you wake up:

  1. Boil some water
  2. Grab half a lemon
  3. Squeeze the juice into a medium size glass
  4. Fill the glass with half cold water (preferably filtered) and half boiled water, making a lukewarm fresh juice
  5. Drink and enjoy before breakfast

The benefits are manifold: tasty, refreshing and a natural cleanser to the liver and kidneys, especially after all the toxins accumulated the day before.

It acts as a tonic to the liver and control bile flow which helps in digesting the day’s food. For this reason, and even though lemon is acidic, it has excellent digestive properties and can help ease heartburn and bloating.

Lemon juice also contains calcium, magnesium, potassium and vitamin C.
